Welcome to Heaven
Philippian 3:20-21 But we are citizens of Heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives, and we are eagerly waiting for Him to return as our Savior, He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like His own, using the same power with which He will bring everything under His control.
Barbara Kathleen Crew-Hartman, affectionately known as Kay, was born on December 5, , 1962, in Philadelphia Pennsylvania to the late Barbara Richardson-Crew and Reverend Wilbert Crew who also served as her pastor. Barbara was baptized at an early age and became a member of Lovely Baptist Church where she served for over fifty years. Barbara was a faithful member of the church and devoted her musical gifts unto the Lord with great diligence and fervor. Barbara Kay’s passion for music led her to join the Wagner Junior High School gospel choir who traveled and participated in many statewide competitions. Barbara was chosen to sing lead in a national gospel choir competition held at the Philadelphia Convention Center where she won 2nd place out of fifty choirs in attendance. Barb had a powerful singing voice that ministered to your soul and when she would grab the microphone and approach the audience in song you could feel the Spirit of God moving in the House. Barb was also the pianist of the All-In-One choir and eventually became the choir’s organist after the retirement of Mr. Albert Overton. Barbara was also very ambitious. She graduated from Olney High School Prep 7 in 1980 and went on to attend Chestnut Hill College’s computer science program, and then completed her degree at Community College of Philadelphia. Barbara was employed at Blue Cross/Blue Shield for many years where she held various coordinator and managerial positions. She resigned from the company due to medical reasons and started working from home up to her passing. Barbara met and married the late Kevin Hartman on June 3rd, 1989, and out of this union three children were born – Reverend Kevin Hartman, Andre Hartman, and Kristina Hartman. Barb was a loving mother, and a close friend to her three children that created a strong bond that they will forever embrace and remember. Early Thursday morning, the Lord finished Barbara Kay’s Heavenly home on September 28th, 2023, at 1:37am. Barb joyfully accepted her savior’s invitation and was reunited with her mother Barbara who she was named after, and her older sister Carolyn who both transitioned before her. She leaves to cherish in memory her three children (Kevin, Andre, and Kristina), her father Pastor Wilbert Crew, one sister Rosemary Crew-Cofield, one brother-in-law Brian Cofield, three sisters-in-law Kim Hartman, Karen Harrison, and Rosyln Hartman, her only blood niece Barbara Foster a.k.a. Bebe (Carol and Tyrone), host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. “Therefore, you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.” – John 16:2
