Ivory Herman Conway was born and raised in Bridgeville, Delaware on January 14, 1956 to Herman and Dorothy Conway. On November 11, 2022, Ivory at the age of 66 left this life suddenly at home. God turned on his light extended his mighty hand and guided him home.
Ivory received his education at Woodbridge School District and later enlisted in the United States Army. Serving his country from August 22, 1976 until January 23, 1981. After Ivory’s honorable discharge he became employed at DuPont Nylon plant in Seaford, Delaware for several years. Ivory worked odd and end jobs until he decided working for other was no longer for him. He started his own upholstery business Spring & Stitches.
At Ivory’s younger age he enjoyed activities such as the Corvette Club. In which he owned a Shiny black corvette that was special to him. He was a member of a Van Club called The East Coast Mother Truckers whom he proudly drove his big yellow decked out van. Ivory also spent time camping and fishing. No matter how many wins or losses, Ivory always remained a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan.
During the years Ivory met and was joined in holy matrimony to his best accomplishment ever Brenda Maxine Worthy Conway. They were blessed to share their life with three children Stacey, Ivory II and Justin.
Ivory was proceeded in death by his parents, Herman and Dorothy Conway; wife, Brenda Conway; brother, Richard Cannon; and granddaughter, Nakiaya Johnson.
Ivory will be fondly remember and cherished by daughter, Stacey L. Conway; sons, Ivory H. Conway II, Justin W. Conway (Kumesha) and grandchildren Tamia, Ivory III, Jalen, Jaden, Jonas, Jacob, Jasmeen, Alexis, Cody, Makayla, Justin. Four great grandchildren, Dakari, Janailah, Jamiyah, and Turth
In addition, Ivory leaves behind to cherish and honor his memory siblings James Maddox, Darcey Nichols, Herman Prattis (Beverly), Alena Conway, Dion Bacon, Eugenia Armwood (Jay), Teresa Conway, Karen Anderson, Deliah Johnson (Cornelius), Uncle Gary Maddox a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special person dear to his heart Janet Purnell.
