Jerome Clifton Robinson

Jerome Clifton Robinson was born on May 17,1959, in Seaford Delaware to the late Alberta and Leon Robinson Sr. He departed this life suddenly on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Pennsylvania.

Jerry, as he was affectionately known, received his education in the Seaford School District in Seaford, DE. After graduation he worked in many capacities of human services. He was employed with the following: Don Lee Margin as a supervisor, Rite off Industrial, Genesis Healthcare and Easterseals. He worked with Easterseals until his health began to decline.

Jerome C Robinson was joined in holy matrimony to Charlotte West on November 20, 1999. From this union came love in the greatest form: A husband to a wife, a father to his seven children, and a grandfather to his grandchildren.

Throughout his adult life, Jerry was a member of St John’s AME Zion church at Ross Point under the leadership of Rev OP Fields, and Ross Point Freedom Church under the leadership of Pastor Shirley Caldwell from 2010-2017. Jerry served as a faithful usher in both ministries. In 2021 he became a member of Restoration Community Church, in Seaford DE under the leadership of Pastors Cornelius and Sheree Thomas. Jerry was appointed the Father of the Church on September 3, 2022. He was honored to serve in such a capacity. Jerry served faithfully until his health prevented him from attending.

Jerry enjoyed being around family. One of his favorite past times included riding around town with his wife, while stopping and talking to family and friends along the way. Jerry enjoyed going to Dunkin Donuts, visiting with family, but his pride and joy would certainly be his grandkids. On any given Sunday afternoon, Jerry would spend time watching “HIS” Eagles play or catching up on Westerns. He’s known for calling around to family and friends to see what they had cooked and if he wanted a plate; he’d ask “What you cook nigga?” Then say, “...alright bye, I ain’t want nothing.”

We are all going to miss those pop-up visits and the calls to simply check on us.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Andre West “Big Jake”, two sisters, Isabel Dickerson “Dollbaby” and Norine Cannon “Baybay”.  

Jerry leaves to cherish his loving wife of 27 years, Charlotte Robinson of Seaford, DE. Six children Tomika West, Chantay West, Tehron West all of Seaford, DE; Elisa West of Salisbury, MD; Charia West of Seaford, DE; and Danielle West of Salisbury, MD. Five sisters, Mary Jenkins of Baltimore, MD; Francis Pitts (James) of Seaford, DE; Ruth Wright of Baltimore, MD; Elizabeth Davis, Rebecca Robinson both of Seaford, DE. Three brothers Leon Robinson Jr (Gladys) of Seaford, DE; Norman Robinson of Seaford, DE; and Terome Robinson (Gloria) of Seaford, DE. Fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a special God-daughter Janelle West, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
