Julia Ann Snowden was born on December 30, 1943 to the late Virginia Weal and Stanley Smith in Accomack County, Virginia. She departed into eternal rest on Friday May 20, 2022 at home with her husband.
Julia was educated at Traveler Elementary and Marion Smith High School in Accomack County, Virginia. Julia was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church in Melfa, Virginia before moving to Delaware. After arriving in Delaware Julia became a member of St. John 2nd Baptist Church under the pastoral ship of Rev. Sample as an Usher.
Julia was a very hard worker as an employee of King Cole for 26 years until they closed their doors, Milford Public Schools, and McDonalds. Julia was united in Holy Matrimony to Melvin Snowden for 28 years until her passing. Julia was such a delight to be with. She enjoyed spending time with her family whether it was riding to go shopping, family gatherings, or celebrations, she was always there supporting her family.
Julia was preceded in death by her Mother Virginia Weal, Dad Stanley Smith, Brother Willie Drummond, Grandchildren Aaron Reid, Lakeisha Reid, and Morgan Weaver.
Julia leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband Melvin Snowden, her 10 children Emmerell Neal, Barbara Cannon, Thomas (Juliet) Reid Jr., Garfield (Delores) Reid, Linwood (Gail) Reid, Sherwood (Claire) Reid, Cynthia (Davis) Childs, Brenda Weaver, Ricardo (Elvary) Reid, Trimell Reid and two step daughters Zenia (Scott) Bowen and Zeneta (Michael) Scarborough. Her two sisters Marguerite (James) Wallace and Juanita Jakes, twenty-nine grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren.
