Kevin Hartman born to the late Laura E. Hartman and Robert T. Hartman. Kevin was the seventh of eight children from this union. He was educated in the Philadelphia Public School system and graduated from Olney High school in 1975. He loved basketball and played with a lot of leagues and on many basketball courts. Kevin accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Ebenezer Baptist Church by the late Dr. Reverend Samuel L Spear. He later joined Lovely Baptist Church under the pastorship of Reverend Wilbert Crew where he served as a Trustee for many years.
Kevin enjoyed building and making things and honed his craft by doing carpentry work. Kevin worked in and about the city in his chosen field. His carpentry skills were on point and he took pride in all of his projects. His completed projects can be seen at the airport, in numerous churches, doctor offices, and in the homes of family and friends.
Kevin met and married Barbara K. Crew on June 3, 1989 and from this union three children were born: Kevin, Andre, and Kristina.
Kevin leaves to cherish his memory; five children: Kenya Pippin, Kabrina Hartman, Kevin Hartman, Andre Hartman, and Kristina Hartman.
One brother who preceded him in death Kirk Hartman and 1 sister who preceded him in death Laura McFadden. Living relatives: Sisters, Kim Hartman, Karen Harrison, Roslyn Hartman. 1 uncle, Timothy Ramsey. 6 aunts, Juanita Ramsey, Joanne Ramsey, Shirley Ramsey, Odette Brown, Priscilla Moore, Elva Bass, 13 grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Kevin had very special childhood friends who will also mourn his passing including the Jackson 3: Chuck, Tim, Kevin as well as Michael Payne and David Mcilwaine.
