Loretta Jean Teagle born to George Williams and Fannie Mae Teagle on December 14, 1953, in Bridgeville, DE. On June 5, 2023, Loretta transitioned from this life in Baltimore, Maryland.
Loretta earned her high school diploma from the Woodbridge Public School System. At 17 years old, Loretta began her 52 years span of work history where she became well known and respected in the community. Loretta accepted Christ early in her life and was a faithful member of Clarence Street Church of God in Seaford, DE which she attended every Sunday with her sidekick/grandson the late Nate Jr.
Growing up in a large family Loretta knew what it meant to love and share. As a single mother she instilled the same values in her children. She demonstrated how to be a positive person no matter what the circumstance, she was the person that would give you the shirt off her back with no hesitation or questions. Loretta, lived for her family, she loved her family, and would do anything for them or anyone for that matter. Birthdays were a special time for those in Loretta’s life as she faithfully purchased a cake and would put their picture on it. She soon earned the title of Cake Lady.
Loretta’s had a beautiful smile and was dedicated to making sure she felt the way she looked. She always kept her hair, nails, and toes done. She was very fashionable and was no stranger to the camera. She enjoyed watching Steve Harvey version of Family Feud, her Soaps: Guiding Light and Young and the Restless. She loved traveling and visiting the beach but didn’t care for getting in the ocean. Loretta’s house was much like her appearance always changing, no matter what time of day or night it was if she felt the need to rearrange, she would fulfill her vision.
Loved ones who was preceded Loretta in death were her parents, George Williams; Fannie Mae Teagle; maternal grandmother who raised her, Hattie Teagle, three sisters, Oda Mae Parker; Cathy Williams; Janice Bennett; two brothers, Joe Williams; George Williams Jr.; one niece, Lilly Mae Williams; one nephew, Willie Wright III; two grandchildren, Uneeki Teagle; and Nate Henry Jr.
Loretta’s most cherished memories will be celebrated by her two children Terry Teagle (Tameka); Vanity Teagle (Nate Henry) both of Bridgeville, DE; two sisters, Georgia Wright of Wilmington, DE; Lucille Cannon of Norfolk, VA; one brother, Robert Williams of Bridgeville, DE; four grandchildren, Devontae Massey of Bridgeville DE; Tierra Mosley of Milford, DE; Messiah Banks of Laurel, DE; Aamir Sheppard of Long Neck, DE; six great grandchildren, Ja'Karri Massey of Milford, DE; Zha'neir Haynes of Laurel DE; Na’Shaun Massey of Rex, Georgia; Journee Boyer of Long Neck, DE; Rae’lynn Mosley of Milford, DE; Sayori Sheppard of Long Neck, DE. And a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.
Loretta, definitely executed her assignment well; she was truly one of God's chosen angels here on earth. Although Loretta’s legacy will continue through her family, she will truly be missed.
