Patricia A Bland

Patricia Ann Bland “Tootsie” beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on February 17, 2024, in Christiana, Delaware at the age 69. She was born on October 6, 1954 in Lewes, Delaware.

Patricia graduated from Wicomico High School after attending Phillip C.  Showell Elementary and Indian River High. She furthered her education at WorWic Community College, where she studied Chemical Dependency Counseling.

Patricia was known for her strength, fearlessness, and passion for cooking. Patricia will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. She was overprotective of her loved ones and had a strong will that was to be admired.

She often visited the Redeemed of the Lord Outreach Ministry, Patricia found solace and comfort in her place of worship.

In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, taking car rides, and cherishing moments with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rachel and Frank Bland; brothers, Edward Bland, Frank Bland Jr, and Clayton Henry; sisters, Evelyn Jones, Linda Bland, Priscilla Bland, sister/niece Rachel Powell.

Patricia is survived by her six children: Lavonne Bland-Douglas (Lamar), Larry Bland, Latisha Paul (Eric), Carleen Collick (Elroy), Charline Bland, and Darline Bland; 24 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; two sisters, Addie Bland and Helen Bland. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
