Renee Kilgoe

Renee Barnes Kilgoe was born to the late William C. Barnes and Marie G. Barnes Beulah on Monday, June 12, 1950.  . She departed this life on Saturday, May 21 20, 2023, at the age of 72.  .

Renee Barnes married Fred Kilgoe on February 4, 1970, in Salisbury, Maryland. Fred was a loving, faithful, and caring husband. Fred and Renee are the parents of three (3) children: Freddie Jerome Barnes, Youmana Carr and Shenee Marie Gladney, a niece, who was raised as a daughter..

Renee graduated from James H. Groves High School in Georgetown, Delaware. She began her career as a teacher at the Seaford Head Start, and taught there for 30 years under the leadership of Directors Marion Rank and Betty Richardson. Renee was promoted to Office Administrator and served in various positions to include Office Administrator. Renee earned a Certification in Early Childhood Development from Delaware Technical & Community College in Georgetown, Delaware. Later, she owned and operated a day care in her home for over 25 years.

Renee had many hobbies. She loved soap operas, cooking, crossword puzzles, creating arts and crafts, and watching soap operas.  She loved jewelry and purchased various assorted designs and colors.

Renee was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, the Serenity Choir and, involved in Devotional Services and responsible for Advertisement and Decoration of the Easel Board. Renee participated in prison ministries with the “Assembly of Sons” group serving prisons located in Baltimore and Jessup, Maryland. Also, Renee was also a member of We Care Truckers and Bus Drivers Organization.

Renee was preceded in death by her parents, two (2) brothers: Denzie Julian Barnes & Julian Denzie Barnes; two (2) sisters: Shirelle Valarie Caldwell & Valarie Shirelle Beulah. She leaves to embrace her memories her a loving and caring husband, Fred Kilgoe of Seaford, Delaware; one son: Freddie Jerome Barnes (Josilyn) of Smyrna, Delaware; two (2) daughters: Youmana Carr (Andre) of Warner Robins, Georgia & Shenee Marie Gladney (niece) of Seaford, Delaware. Grandchildren; Dr. Sequoia Barnes of Edinburgh, Scotland, Karmari Boyd of Chicago, Illinois,  Jasmine Carr Radford of Mableton, Georgia and Jayden Carr of Warner Robins, Georgia and Alena De La Rosa, Melani Ashley, Lelani Ashley (great nieces who were raised as grandchildren), all of Seaford, Delaware; Jasmine Carr Radford of Mableton, Georgia and Jayden Carr of Warner Robins, Georgia five (5) sisters:  Lucille Harmon (Lefton) of New Castle, Delaware, Vanessa Allen (Maurice) of Fruitland Park, Florida, April Barnes of Seaford, Delaware, Joan Burton (Ronnie) of Delaware City, Delaware & Claudette Beulah of Wilmington, Delaware; three (3) brothers, Eric Barnes, of Newark, Delaware, Anthony Barnes of Wilmington, Delaware &  William C. Barnes, Jr. of  Fruitland Park, Florida,  and a  host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends, as well as two (2) best friends, Jenelle Hayward and Gail Weal of Seaford, Delaware.
