Sylvien Marcelin

Sylvien Marcelin, 95, born on June 26, 1927 to the late Cydmar and Rozanie Pierre Marcelin in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba. Sylvien transition from this earthly home on July 09, 2022.

Sylvien graduated from the St. John Public School in Haiti. He was a skilled farmer that yielded some of the most prosperous harvest. In addition to a farmer Sylvien also had a merchant ship that transported goods to various locations. In 1991, the Lord blessed Sylvien to come to the United States to retire from his physical labor and enjoy his family.

Sylvien was a dedicated family man that attended church and truly demonstrated what it meant to be kindhearted. It was not unusual for Sylvien to lend money to families who desired to get their children and education. If the school was too far for the children, he would often take the children into to his own home. Sylvien had no enemies…. If he, had it, you had it.

Sylvien was preceded death by his wife, Louise Yvette Marcelin; three sisters, Locita Marcelin; Cenaida Marcelin, Yzana Lacroix; two brothers Semoine Lacroix and Stavien Hyacinthe.

Sylvien legacy will be cherished by his six children and their spouses Jean Sylvian Marcelin (Avenise); Robert Marcelin (Vena); Marie Marthe Marcelin (Jene Keller Raymond); Pierre Marcelin (Marie Claude); Solomon Marcelin and Brunel Marcelin and family. Grandchildren, Stephen Marcelin and family; Jacques Marcelin and family; Peterson Marcelin; Kimbert Marcelin and family; Mary Marcelin and family; Linda Marcelin; John Charles and family; Pierre Charles and family; Martine Edmond; 11 greatgrandchildren, two sisters, Virginia Lacroix and Lalouse Lacroix; brother Henock Lacroix; two sister-in-law Voilane Pierre and Anne Marie Severin. Two daughter-in-law Ricienne Casseus and Hermesia Silien. One special nephew, Flavien Hyacinthe and two special cousins, Lesly Marcelin and family; Patrick Marcelin and family and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
