Tomeka Major Obituary

On Tuesday October 25, 2022, Tomeka Renee Pitts-Major was granted her angel wings surrounded by her family and friends. She was 42. Born to the late Madeline E. Pitts and William Felton in Lewes, Delaware.

Tomeka graduated from Sussex Central High School after graduation she went to work for KFC/Taco bell in West Ocean City, Maryland, until her career journey went in another direction Tomeka then went to work at Walmart in Georgetown, Delaware for 20 years until her health declined.

Meka as she was affectionately called married her love Travis Major December 13, 2008 together with their three children, they built a great life together opening up their own business Prophetic Images Barber Shop.


Meka loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, crabbing, singing, watching comedy movies, and riding out. She loved to help others her light shined bright to all that came in contact with her. 


Meka will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 14 years Travis Major of Seaford, DE, three children Shynisa Pitts (Tony) of Wilmington, DE, Tyrese Florestal and Yuriah Major of Seaford, DE , two grandsons Jeremiah Conner (her fat Mum) and Tony McClarin Jr. (her T-Nibbler), two brothers Isaac Pitts (Azisha) of Mulberry,Fa, Warmer Pitts of Laurel, DE, three sisters Sherry Davenport of Baltimore, MD, Georgeana Spencer Knapp (Thomas) of Milton, DE, Sarah Pitts of Cambridge, MD, three aunts Mary Middleton, Helen Belote, Lillian Tingle (Joe) dear friends Kenya Hopkins, Patricia Attiwoto, Ashley Hughes, Cassandra Walton, Loretta Stevenson, and Eesh Snow. 10 nephews, 9 nieces a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Meka was preceded in death by her parents, sister Durita Pitts (Ressie), two brothers, grandmother Mary Pitts Rayfield, four aunts, one uncle, and James Johnson (Pops).
